HYANNIS –  [HN NOTES]  –  It was a tricky high-risk traffic stop right from the start.  There was a language barrier. Which meant the driver was having difficulty understanding commands in English.  As you will see in the following HN Video, a police sergeant acted out his commands using a “jazz hands” type gesture (a palm-forward wave, with fingers spread apart) to get his point across.  But this certainly wasn’t musical theater.  This was for real!  The suspect they were looking for was possibly armed with high-capacity firearms, and potentially very dangerous.  According to sources, the Bourne Police put out a B.O.L.O to all area departments for an individual wanted in connection to a stalking investigation.  Investigators also learned their suspect was likely in possession of firearms.  A license plate was also put out in the B.O.L.O.  Late last evening, an off-duty Yarmouth Police officer spotted the suspect vehicle and alerted Barnstable Police, according to radio transmissions.  Within minutes, numerous police resources were zeroing in on the suspect vehicle as it traveled eastbound along Route 28.  Once enough police assets were in place, a “felony” or “high-risk” traffic stop was executed on Route 28, just east of the intersection with Bearses Way.  As you will see in the following HN Video, police needed to go to a plan B, tactfully approaching the seated driver due to the language barrier.  The driver was taken into custody without incident.  A woman and child were also inside the vehicle.  They also exited without incident.  A translator responded to the traffic stop.  It was quickly determined the driver was not the suspect they were looking for.  He was immediately removed from handcuffs as officers continued to investigate.  There was a palpable level of frustration at the scene.  According to several sources, officers had the right license plate and vehicle, the one put out by the Bourne Police.  But, at the time of this report, they were still investigating where the actual suspect was… Certain parts of the following HN Video have either been cut out or else blurred, as the driver was not the suspect they were looking for.  Nor was he involved, according to sources.  No further details available at this time.  [DEVELOPING] [HN VIDEO –  PRESS PLAY]  P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is a brought to you by Men At Work…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT!]  The post ***  WATCH ***  HIGH-RISK HYANNIS TRAFFIC STOP –  RIGHT VEHICLE –  WRONG OCCUPANTS! first appeared on Hyannis News - News & Information for Hyannis Cape Cod.
