HYANNIS – [HN NOTES] – Agreeable weather – no rain, not too muggy, just a thick fog rolling in sometime after midnight – brought crowds to downtown Hyannis last evening. And there was a noticeable police presence which likely helped maintain a sense of order. There were also no major, out-of-the-ordinary crime scenes… just the typical things one sees during any busy Friday evening. In the following HN photos, police arrest a man for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. He was also allegedly in possession of a bag of crack.       In the following HN photos, police investigate a scuffle between nightclub security and a patron. The bar patron was evaluated on scene and eventually transported to Cape Cod Hospital for additional evaluation and treatment for minor, non-life-threatening facial injuries.     Just prior to bar closing, officers stopped a vehicle in a crowded parking lot at the corner of Main Street and Highschool Road. A young adult male operator was arrested for allegedly driving recklessly while spinning his tires, along with a list of other traffic offenses. A passenger was allegedly hanging out of the car window as the vehicle continued to drive recklessly. The majority of the crowd were simply there to show off their cars. In general, most of the teens and young adults on scene were orderly and cooperative with police. However, whenever the occasional idiot spins tires, speeds, and does “donuts” in a crowded parking lot, police officers become very concerned about the safety of innocent bystanders.             HN BONUS PHOTOS: A Massachusetts State Trooper conducts field sobriety testing during a Hyannis traffic stop earlier in the week. The driver in the following photos ended up being arrested for Operating Under the Influence.     * HN NOTE: The initial details contained in the above report are based on police radio transmissions and information from sources on scene. All defendants are presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. HAVE A GREAT SATURDAY AND PLEASE BE SAFE OUT THERE!
