The Lies of The News Media

By Columnist TRB - When you listen to the political news, keep something in mind. The news is all owned - and I mean all of the major news media - by only 6 mega-corporations who hate President Obama's guts and are already planning for a big party the night he loses and their appointed and annointed CEO, Mitt Romney takes back the White House to provide services to the enormous corporations they own. Forget about your social security; Forget about your Medicare. They don't care about those things. This a tale of corruption, lies and greed. And it could only come from America's news media which lies everytime it opens its mouth. Cable, newspapers, networks, radio; all lies. And hypocrisy. Let's not forget that.

It all materialized last week when the news media began to report in unision - as they often do - that Obama was running a dirty campaign and dirty campaign ads. First of all. he wasn't. Secondly, Romney has been running false advertising for months and the news media has barely noticed. But now here was our "objective and fair" news media telling us that Obama was running a dirty campaign. Well. some of us have memories that stretch back a year or more and can recall what we have heard and seen in the news media. Being a journalist, I often remember much of it. Unfortunately.

So the American news media says Obama is running a dirty campaign. Check it out on any search engine.

Do you remember when the same American news media spent months attacking Obama with "news stories" that can only be described as "dirty" about the political beliefs of Obama's church pastor? These were not ads, but "news," totally unrevaling, irrelevant "news" designed to make Obama look as radical in his politics as his pastor was in his. Do you remember that Obama actually quit his church over the stink? Now, can you picture the news media doing a backround check on Romney's pastor? Probably not. Why? Have you ever wondered? And do you remember all that garbage the news media handed to Obama's enemies with this so-called "news story?" His enemies took the information and made it into dirty ads of the kind the news media is now accusing the president.

Did you know there is even a Romney negative ad that leads in with a well-known "news" anchorman telling us that these are the worst of economic times? The news media is actually providing Romney with information to use against Obama. This would be fine if they were also providing Obama with the dirt on Romney. But they are no longer playing fair. They are no longer being objective. They are on Romney's side and it is obvious

Maybe you remember when some nutcake said the super-capitalist Obama was a socialist. Everyone should have laughed and gone home. But they didn't. The news media felt that these socialist charges should be checked out and they spent at least a week doing so. They knew he was not a socialist, but they put the trash out there anyway. It was a lie.

And of course there is the "birther mmovement." with whom the news media has had a love affair from the beginning. There is solid proof that Obama was born in this nation and no proof that he was born anywhere else. But you still can hear this nonsense raised in the news media from time to time. Another lie. More dirt. But, no, Obama is running dirty campaign ads they tell us. That is their latest Obama lie.

There was another nutcake a few years back who said Obama was a Muslim. Is he? No, he is a Christian and has attended a Christian Church every Sunday since anyone around here can remember. But the media just had to check out this Muslim rumor, which meant they had to broadcast the possibility that it was true for months on end. More dirty news targeted directly at Obama by the major news media.

The media has provided platforms for hateful fanatics and has itself implied that Obama is somehow less than an American, not loyal to America, does not know what it is like to be an American. Now the news media is trying to tie Obama's name to two words: "Hate," which it borrowed from the Romney camp and "Dirty," from its own fictional news stories about Obama's campaign ads.

The real irony here is that hate and dirt probably best describe the U.S. news media itself.
