It really is true that what goes around, comes around. The longer you live the more often you will see examples of this. A young Bob Dylan wrote the line "The first one now will later be last," into a song when he was only 21 years old. He could see the mixture of events and people that ultimately form public opinion. Sometimes that mixture is soft and fluffy and you can't even hear it as it is made. It was like that in the 1950's. With the exception of one creepy alcoholic who saw communists in his own diapers, the '50s are like the world's most boring Impressionist painting. Well, on the surface at least.

More than a half century later the mixture of events and people are not soft and fluffy. It is more like a meat grinder out there every day. Blame is the typical human reaction. Eleven trillion dollars were stolen from us. Millions of our homes were foreclosed. No one can get a job. Many people you know are out of work. An illegal war in Iraq and a moronic war in Afghanistan are more than most of us can take. The era of the artificial limb is upon us.

This is now. And this was also 2010. That will be remembered as the year the Republicans received a massive frustration-with-politics-as-usual vote and grabbed a ruling party number of seats in Congress. But the Republicans never figured out how they had butchered the Democrats so badly. They misread the whole thing, believing the American voter was calling them to the rescue, when in fact the American voter was only mixing it up, trying to see what would work and what would not.

Now comes the "big pay back." The tsunami of politics, It is not yet 2012 and you can already hear it rumbling in the distance. The rumble is becoming so loud it is drowning out all the repeatedly unmet promises of the Republicans, who have not created one job. And they should be happy that so many people can no longer hear them over the tremendous noise coming this way. The noise. that will be their demise.

We may have seen the last "class" of Congress. That bit of left-over high school yearbook nonsense, that grip and grin photo shoot of the incoming pols on the steps of the Capitol could be kaput.  Americans are not buying off on that anymore. There are not too many things more disgusting than a formation of thieves smiling for the camera.

Are there?

The Republicans will mostly be gone in 2012. Obama will be President in 2012. And the non-partisan, maybe even conservative Obama will be gone too, replaced by that neighborhood organizer of his youth. He will be able to do his work. He won't be spending any time with Republicans because he won't need them. It will be his final term in office, his last chance to make his mark on the presidency. And he will.

The massive losses the Republicans will take in 2012 are inevitable. They let the entitlements cat out of the bag. Now it's running around their living room tearing down their curtains and revealing to all what they really are. Just another band of thieves trying to live in the Washington D.C. swamps forever.

After taking part in the largest swindle against Americas in history, after carrying the water for their owners, the banking industry and watching trillions sucked out of the country and millions of jobs and homes lost, the Republicans are no longer seen as potential saviors by the American public. The Tea Party is so watered down, the only thing keeping it alive is the propaganda you hear on television networks and the crazy statements the Tea Party is prone to issue regularly.

Palin is a thing of the past. She is even getting old on the speech circuit, where she has made millions. She is in single digit land now this "wonderful, fresh, blossoming politician" the press told us about only two years ago. Now she's just about over.

And Newt, the man from outer space might run for the White House in 2012. Ho hum. He and his loony ideas are  almost broke. Hucklebee with that Gomer Pyle impression that makes you want to flee the room when you hear it? I don't think so. Romney, the whitest man in the world? Probably not. You have to remember that Obama is sitting on two million dollars in campaign funds and is leading in all of the polls.

And then there is this tsunami.

It always happens like this, doesn't it? The Republicans or the Democrats get into office in large numbers in off years when a president is not runing, And if he's a Democrat, the Democrats stay home because after all, they already have the White House wrapped up for two years. But the Republicans show up to vote for Congress and they win. Or it happens the other way around.

It is always seen as a "defeat of historic proportions" when after all it is so predictable as to be silly. But the victorious party always believes the press, who are just trying to pump up the story. It goes to the new politician's head and he or she begins to imagine being in office forever. But oh the terrible tsunamis. As you know, they are the result of an earthquake occurring usually under the ocean. Look upon this as an ocean of greed.

All that power is released into the ocean and travels, the shock of it just under the surface sometimes for a thousand miles or so. Then just when you are getting ready to apply the tanning lotion - the Speaker of the House might find a lesson in this - your are plastered against the side of a building, which itself is lifted off its foundation by millions of tons of water and you are never seen again. Heads up, Republicans because it is on its way.

And you brought it here. You cuddled up to the Tea Party, the closest organization to the Brown Shirts since Hitler's time. You told us that we were all going to have to make sacrifices. But you didn't bother to tell us why. You didn't tell us why because the answer is so damned embarrassing, isn't it? First Bush II, whom you all supported like he was a genius got us into a very expensive illegal war that costs lives and a fortune. Then he relaxed regulations and looked the other way as the government-supported "private" banking industry stole us blind.

But the best has to be saved for last. Now that Republicans have played such an enormous role in stealing our money, in giving tax breaks to billionaires whether they want them or not, and in voting that we should take some more of our tax money and give it to the banks who stole it from us, because, after all they lost that money of ours that they stole. Really, can you take it anymore?

The Republicans now want to steal what little we have left - our entitlements - some of which we worked a whole life paying for. So this would be the third theft of our money. And the Republicans are squarely behind it. As they are behind attempts to break our unions and taking the last rights we have from us.

It is funny, because the Democrats are just a little bit better. But that one little bit is enough to put them in office and get rid of these awful Republicans. The most interesting question is: When will we, as a free people, have to get rid of this dreadful government? Because the day is going to come. If you do not believe that is a realistic question, you haven't been paying attention.
