HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – According to a Barnstable Police report, on July 21, 2025, at around 10:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to Veterans Beach for a report of an intoxicated female, described as being white, approximately 5’2” with blonde hair, wearing a black t-shirt and jean shorts. Officers encountered a woman fitting the description sitting on the ground, attempting to put on her shoes. The female was later identified as Emma Dauphinais. The BPD report continues as follows:
“Emma stated she was brought to the beach by a black male party, and was unsure of his name or where he went. While speaking with Emma, she appeared to be disoriented and unable to answer questions on where she was, who she had been with or how she got to Veterans Beach. I observed Emma’s speech to be slow and slurred, as well as a strong odor of alcohol emanating from her person. Once Emma stood up, I observed her to be extremely unsteady on her feet, walking in numerous directions in order to prevent herself from falling.”
Dispatched advised officers on scene that Emma had a warrant for her arrest out of Sandwich. She was placed under arrest, handcuffed, and placed in the back of a cruiser. Prior to her being handcuffed, officers noted that Emma made several statements about whether they were going to search her purse. During the booking process, officers conducted an inventory of Emma’s belongings. A spoon with an off-white residue, burnt foil, and a burnt straw were allegedly located inside her purse. Upon searching the purse further, officers allegedly located a large “corner cut” baggie containing an off-white powdery substance.
Detective Sgt. Kevin Connolly eventually performed a field test on the baggie’s contents using TruNarc, finding the presumptive presence of Fentanyl, approximately 10 grams. Emma Dauphinais was charged with Trafficking in More Than 10 Grams of Fentanyl.
