HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES & MULLINGS ON THE MATTER] – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, at around 10:35 p.m. last evening, Barnstable Police and Hyannis Firefighters responded to yet another bad crash at the intersection of High School Road and South Street. It’s an extremely popular intersection for serious two-vehicle crashes – if you’re into that sort of thing, which the governmental powers-to-be likely are, as it has been a hazardous intersection (with its share of fatalities) for well-over 50 years, and nobody seems to give a [bleep].
The crashes at High School and South usually don’t end well due to the excessive speed factor. But that doesn’t matter because of the twisted lust for speed that overrides everything, pervasive among certain simple-minded town residents and visitors alike, with South Street being a magnet for speed morons looking for orgasmic, high-velocity satisfaction. It’s probably one of the last drag strips in Massachusetts and is especially unique because it runs through a school zone! And the speed demons couldn’t give a rat’s ass about the possibility of picking off school kids in the crosswalk… because, you know, they’re out of control, dim-witted morons, incapable of thinking beyond their tricked out, aftermarket steering wheels.
The speed limit on South Street is 35 MPH, and 20 MPH when the kiddies are around. But nobody ever actually goes the speed limit on South Street, because it’s basically an all-out, white-knuckled drag race between the lights at Sea Street to the lights at Ocean Street, where everyone usually gets a much-needed time-out to respond to one of the texts they were reading at 50 MPH… or to light another cigarette, while waiting for their next green light fix… and it’s off to the races again toward the hospital and other drag strips unknown. These reckless idiots are not very smart, but what they lack in intelligence they make up by being inconsiderate and deadly.
Meanwhile, some high-paid crash pervert in local government (or whomever is in charge of speed bumps or warning signals or making things safer) must also be “getting off” on seeing all these crashes, because nothing effective has ever been done about the preventable hazard at High School and South. And it’s no secret the intersection is historically dangerous, so what kind of sick bastard (or bastards) with the power to do something about it, just sits there on their fat government ass watching it happen over and over and over and over…
… and over again?
Remember that next time you pay your taxes around here – that we have useless “crash perverts” getting cheap thrills when they should be making things safer in Hyannis – the so-called “Hub of Cape Cod” – on what’s becoming known as the “Island of Misfit Toys” – or the “Island of Misfit Leadership” is probably more like it – or whatever you want to call it. (“Whatever…”) Where the roadways are always poorly maintained and constantly ragged from being perpetually dug up by inept hacks, to the point of being generally unsafe and unbearable… where everything seems to be done half-ass by underqualified, overpaid, millionaire government leaches who wouldn’t last a second in any real city. And yet nobody seems to really care or even know about what our local “government” actually does… or does not do. Everyone just keeps paying their taxes like mindless saps while the entire lawless, crime ridden mess, with its empty storefronts and broken dreams, continues to bleed out on the neglected sidewalks. “Oh, but the people in our local government are so nice and friendly… and they have really nice politically correct events on the town green for the people who happen to not be working that day,” the saps will say – but will any of that matter when some kid overdoses, suffering from a jobless lack of direction and basic hope in the future… or when someone’s brother or sister freezes to death on a Hyannis sidewalk… or when a business owner loses everything and becomes overcome with despair… or when someone’s young child gets violently run over by some reckless speed freak? Will the saps still continue to pay for an unchecked government that does not deliver?
Probably.
“Whatever…”
The following HN Video highlights yet another serious crash at High School and South, where five patients escaped serious injury, ultimately not needing to be transported after being evaluated. Others in previous crashes there have not been as “fortunate.” The Barnstable PD is investigating the cause of the crash, which remains unknown at the time of this report…
… but if I had to make an educated guess…
