Having some kind of camera with me is such a luxury because even when you are not looking for something to see or think that the weather is such that there is nothing to see, there is always something to see. I experience this recently from inside my car at the Craigsville Beach parking lot.   I noticed a large group of seagulls settled into the sand in forming a roughly straight line which was roughly perpendicular to the water.  If they were human, I would assume they were lined up to see the setting sun; Craigsville Beach is a south facing beach.   I continued to watch and noticed that frequently gulls would fly from the end of the line furthest from the water and land at the end of the line nearest the water. And it was then I knew that the wind was coming off the water and this is how the group would be settling in for the night until the wind shifted, or a predator approached.
