United States Attorney General Pam Bondi filed charges against several New York officials yesterday, laying down the law regarding the D.O.J.’s commitment to immigration enforcement under her leadership. Attorney General Bondi began her press conference by stating, “This is a new DOJ. New York has chosen to prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens. It stops. It stops today.” Bondi specifically mentioned New York’s “Green Light laws,” which allow illegal immigrants to get a driver’s license. The law, also known as the Driver’s License Act, prevents certain federal law enforcement officers from accessing New York State’s driver’s license information… which jeopardizes the safety and effectiveness of federal law enforcement operations, according to Bondi. Bondi filed lawsuits against New York Governor Kathy Hochul and New York Attorney General Letitia James for allegedly failing to comply with federal law by shielding illegal immigrants, according to various news reports. Throughout yesterday’s press conference, Attorney General Bondi had very stern words while warning other states, “If you don’t comply with federal law, we will hold you accountable!” Bondi pointed out, “We don’t want to prosecute people. We want people to comply with the law… We have angel moms throughout this country who should not be going through this… this is the last thing we want to be doing. We want to be out there, all of us, fighting violent crime, yet were fighting illegal aliens… and that ends… and it’s going to end today.” An “angel mom” is a mother whose child has been killed by an illegal alien. Bondi adamantly reiterated her warning, “Violent criminals, gang members, drug traffickers, human smugglers will no longer terrorize the American people… and that is why we are here today. You will be held accountable if you do not follow federal law. It’s over. It ends today. And we’re coming after you!” The following Department of Justice footage covers Attorney General Bondi’s statements, responses to media questions, and her stern warning to state officials who do not comply with federal law… [HN VIDEO – PRESS PLAY] P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is a brought to you by Sergio Mendes…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT!
