EAST SANDWICH, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES – DEVELOPING] – A second alarm was struck as crews battled a structure fire early this morning. At around 12:49 a.m., Sandwich Firefighters were called to 55 Osprey Lane for what was initially describe as a fire on an outside deck. Moments later, firefighters reported heavy flames coming from the front of the home. All occupants had reportedly evacuated, according to radio transmissions. Firefighters then established an exterior attack as mutual aid began arriving from other fire departments. Two vehicles in the driveway were also on fire. One of the vehicles had stubborn flames that continued to flare up after being knocked down. It took a while to get a “good knock” on the flames and just over an hour later, firefighters were still wetting down hot spots. The State Fire Marshal was contacted, along with the building and wiring inspectors, who were reportedly en route… HN will provide official updates as they become available.
