HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES] – A man is being charged with Assault by Means of a Firearm after allegedly pulling a gun on two housekeepers working at a Hyannis apartment complex. As you will see and hear in the following video, at around 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, multiple Barnstable Police Officers – some heavily armed – responded to the Cromwell Court Apartments on Barnstable Road to investigate. According to radio transmissions, officers spoke with witnesses and then surrounded Building 1 inside the complex. A man was taken into custody and held in the parking lot as at least one witness drove by in a police cruiser in an effort to identify him. The man was then placed under arrest and charged with Assault by Means of a Firearm, according to sources on scene. An apartment inside Building 1 was placed under guard while Barnstable Police Detectives continued to investigate. The Cromwell Court Apartments house a number of young Hyannis families. One mother returning from last-minute Christmas shopping spoke with HN about her concern for the safety of her young children. Lately she has noticed young strangers entering her building to apparently smoke marijuana. Mothers and young children returning to Cromwell Court were escorted to their apartments by police officers as the investigation unfolded. No further details were available at the time of this report.  This is a developing story and HN will provide updates as official details become available.  [HN VIDEO –  PRESS PLAY]
