HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES] – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, at around 1:00 a.m. this morning, a Barnstable Police patrolman radioed that a driver had just fled on foot from a traffic stop behind some cottages on Pine Grove Avenue. Two occupants of the suspect’s pickup truck remained on scene and cooperated with police. Additional Barnstable Police patrol officers saturated the area and began searching. As you will see, a short time into the search, officers located their suspect hiding underneath a work van. An HN camera was rolling when officers took the suspect into custody without incident. Steven Richards, 52, of Hyannis was arrested on 4 warrants for drug related offenses. Richards was also charged with Failure to Stop for Police, along with Resisting Arrest, according to police sources.
