HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS –  [HN VIDEO NOTES]  –  As you will hear in the following HN video, at approximately 1:00 a.m. this morning, Barnstable Police officers were dispatched to what was described as a 911 “silent call” notification from an Apple watch stating that the owner had been involved in a “car accident” in the area of 113 Lincoln Road.  Moments later, a separate Barnstable Police officer from the one initially dispatched can be heard requesting his supervisor to Lincoln Road for a cruiser-involved crash.  Another Barnstable Police officer can be heard requesting Hyannis Rescue to respond.  A supervisor ordered Lincoln Road to be shut down.  Lincoln Road from West Main Street to Route 28 was completely shut down to all traffic.  A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit was immediately requested to the scene to take photos.  A Hyannis FD engine was requested to the scene to deal with spilled fluids from a heavily damaged BMW sedan.  Vehicle crash reconstruction experts were also requested to the scene.  Two ambulances responded and Cape Cod Hospital was placed on trauma alert for the two female occupants of the mangle BMW.  One of the patients was described as a 24-year-old female suffering an arm fracture.  The second patient was described as a 20-year-old female with a femur fracture.  Both patients were alert and conscious and obviously suffering a great deal of pain.  No police officers were injured during the crash, according to sources on scene.  There were no officers inside the parked cruiser at the time of the crash, sources say. The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.  The following video contains HN footage, along with Barnstable Police and Hyannis Fire Department radio transmissions… [HN VIDEO –  PRESS PLAY]
