Cape Cod Day 4: Coffee and Filipino Food.

Nearly every time my mom and I go to Nirvana Coffee in Barnstable the weather is terrible. Well, once again when we decided to go, the weather was muggy and rainy. Despite the weather,  the coffee is worth it.  I believe it to be the best coffee shop on the cape. My favorite is an iced Mexican mocha with oat milk. The one downside is parking might be difficult to find. Later in the day, we headed to Mainstreet in Chatham to browse the different shops and grab a bite to eat.  There are a quite a few restaurants to choose from, but we wanted something different than typical Cape Cod seafood. We selected Aplaya Kitchen + Tiki Bar which serves Filipino food and tapas. The restaurant is hidden behind Lilly Pulitzer, but is definitely a hidden gem decorated like an island tiki bar. My mom and I decided to share a few items from the menu. We picked out the Tuna Poke Bowl, Pork Belly Sisig Tacos, Homemade Lumpia, and some fried plantains.  It was all excellent, but the tacos were my favorite. They also have ube ice cream sandwiches in addition to drinks made with ube on the menu, but I was too full after dinner to eat or drink anything else!  I will definitely go back to try those next year.   Pork Belly Sisig Tacos   Lumpia   Poke Bowl   Pork Belly Sisig Tacos
