MASHPEE, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN AUDIO NOTES]  –  Shortly prior to 4:00 a.m. this morning, Mashpee Police patrol officers responded to a 911 hang-up call from inside the Lakeside Trailer Park, 300 Nathan Ellis Highway. According to radio transmissions, when asked if they needed police, fire, or medical, the female caller reportedly answered, “yes, it’s an emergency,” before hanging up. Prior to officers making contact, dispatch relayed that a woman at the address was now saying that a man (who is apparently known to her) held her a knifepoint, took her phone and ran off. Officers made contact with the woman and requested Mashpee FD Rescue to the scene for an evaluation.  (It’s uncertain whether she needed to be transported.)   A B.O.L.O was put out to surrounding police departments for the suspect who was possibly driving a gray 2005 Ford Explorer. The B.O.L.O. specified that there was probable cause to arrest the suspect for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (knife) and Intimidation of a Witness. And because the alleged assault involved a knife, the B.O.L.O. also cautioned surrounding towns regarding “officer safety.” A number of Mashpee police units were committed to the scene when dispatch asked if the supervisor could free up a car for another emergency involving an 18-year-old having a psychotic episode. A unit was able to eventually free up and assist FD at another address prior to rescue transporting the teen to Falmouth Hospital. Less than hour into the alleged knife assault call, the male suspect reportedly returned and pulled into the driveway at the Lakeside Trailer Park scene, according to radio transmissions. The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest. NOTE: All defendants are presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The following HN “video” contains a still photo from the alleged crime scene. It also contains police radio transmissions that go a little bit more into detail regarding the alleged suspect… [HN VIDEO – PRESS PLAY] P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is a brought to you by Peter Gabriel…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT!
