SANDWICH PD MEDIA STATEMENT: The Sandwich Police Department is investigating a Bank Robbery at the Cape Cod Cooperative Bank on Cotuit Road. At approximately 4pm, officers responded to a panic alarm from the Cape Cod Cooperative Bank.  A male party, described as white, possibly 5’6” – 5’7”, with a stocky build reportedly entered the bank and demanded money from one of the tellers.  No weapon was shown and the suspect’s face was covered.  The teller followed the suspect’s directions, at which time he fled the bank on foot. At the time of the robbery, there were no customers in the bank.  None of the bank staff were injured during the incident. Members of the Sandwich Police Department with assistance from Mashpee PD and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.  Anyone who was in the area and may have observed suspicious activity is encouraged to contact the Sandwich Police Department at 508-888-1212.
