HYANNIS, Massachusetts – Police and firefighters rushed toward a devasting crash scene on Bearses Way shortly before 2:00 p.m. today. The sprawling crash scene stretched along Bearses Way between the intersection with Pitchers Way and the entrance to the Tractor Supply Company. At least two vehicles had heavy to moderate damage. Another vehicle appears to have struck a tire that broke off from one of the vehicles. As you will see in the following HN Video, a heavily damaged Toyota sedan appears to have knocked over a fire hydrant before striking a tree. One of the drivers suffered serious trauma and his injuries were described as critical. The Barnstable Police Department had crash reconstruction experts on scene. Bearses Way was completely shut down while officials worked the scene.   The road reopened about 3:30 p.m.  It was windy and snowing at the time of the crash…  The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash… [DEVELOPING] [HN VIDEO – PRESS PLAY]
