Today, we’re going to share with you 10 essential tips for beginner magnet fishing enthusiasts. Without wasting anyone’s time, let’s jump right in!   TIP NUMBER ONE: This one should be fairly obvious; you’re gonna need a magnet. When we started magnet fishing we “played it safe” and purchased something with a low pull force. Don’t get us wrong here, but you shouldn’t just jump into the bad Larry magnets, not yet at least.  Trust me, you’ll have plenty of time to work up to something stronger. We upgraded rather quickly. There are codes and links that will save you money in the “Discount Codes” section of this site.   TIP NUMBER TWO: I am so bad at this one and really have to get into a better routine so I don’t forget them but this is maybe one of the biggest tips! Always wear gloves! Not only does it protect your hands, but it also gives you a better grip and won’t give ya rope burn when you’re hauling some treasure from the depths. I’ve been poked so many times my middle name is Tetanus! Seriously folks, safety first!   TIP NUMBER THREE: One of the best ways to protect your new investment, get a high quality rope. Personally I’d order direct from where you got the magnet. Yup, I get it, there’s rope anywhere and everywhere! Don’t cheap out and buy something because it cost less, don’t do it. Opt for a decent nylon or polyester rope that can handle the weight/ pull force of your magnet.   TIP NUMBER FOUR; Research the area you’re going magnet fishing in. Look for popular fishing spots or historical sites that may have more interesting finds. Bridges are great to fish off of, as are piers and boat launches. Do your homework. You don’t want to find yourself in a place you don’t want to be. And lastly, tell someone where you are going. It’s a fun hobby but please, be safe!   TIP NUMBER FIVE: Start small—treasure finds take time. Enjoy the surprise of magnet fishing; even small discoveries matter. The hobby is a lot of fun, I promise!   TIP NUMBER SIX: Take your time and be patient. Magnet fishing is all about exploring and discovering hidden treasures. Enjoy the process and stay persistent, but slowly.   TIP NUMBERS SEVEN: Respect the environment by properly disposing of any debris found. As magnet fishers, preserving water bodies is part of our responsibility.   TIP NUMBER EIGHT: Bring a sturdy bucket or container to store your finds. You never know what you might come across, so be prepared to carry your discoveries with care.   TIP NUMBER NINE: Follow local regulations and obtain any necessary permits. Some areas may have restrictions on magnet fishing, so be sure to abide by the rules. If you are unsure, call the place you’re going to. We have lots of local marinas and the off-season is a great time to reach out to them about magnet fishing. If you see a sign that says no trespassing or private property, have respect and stay away.   TIP NUMBER TEN: Join a magnet fishing community or forum. Connect with fellow enthusiasts to share tips, stories and even identify any mysterious finds together. It’s a great way to learn and grow!   Well, that wraps up our 10 essential tips for beginner magnet fishing enthusiasts. We hope you found them helpful and feel more confident to start your own adventures. Thanks for watching, and be sure to our subscribe to our YouTube channel for more exciting content like this.
