***  WATCH ***  PART ONE: 3X BARNSTABLE PD APPLICANT SAYS CHIEF WAS IN UNIFORM DURING THEIR SEXUAL ENCOUNTERS

[HN NOTES] About 11 days ago, HN received an email reply from Lynne Poyant, the Director of Communications for the Town of Barnstable, saying: “In response to your question, Chief Sonnabend has requested and has been placed on extended medical leave.  During his absence, Deputy Chief Jean Challies has been appointed Acting Chief. The Town will have no further comment.” Although Lynne Poyant stated the Town of Barnstable would have no further comment, HN remained very concerned about disturbing rumors surrounding the chief, suggesting there could be much more to the story. So naturally, immediately wanting to either dismiss or confirm these disturbing rumors, HN submitted the following questions: Just one last thing, Lynne  –  and I know you may possibly be bound by the “town hall omerta” that has existed here in Barnstable under the current town manager, especially surrounding this recent development regarding our police department – but is the Town of Barnstable ever going to issue a statement that sheds light on the numerous rumors and allegations surrounding our police chief allegedly being involved in an inappropriate relationship with a woman who was recently passed-over for employment with the Barnstable Police Department?  Can you confirm or deny these allegations?  And are you able to shed light on the alleged photographs of Chief Sonnabend posted online by the woman reportedly passed over for a police officer position?  Along with other allegations of the chief being involved in other inappropriate interactions with women while on duty as a Barnstable Police Officer?  And the fact the town manager was made aware of at least one of the aforementioned questionable behaviors involving a rookie female police officer years ago?  Active and former police officers have reached out to HN, in the past and especially recently, extremely concerned about the chief’s alleged inappropriate behaviors involving women.  Any information, corrections or updates regarding the aforementioned would be greatly appreciated, as the citizens of the Town of Barnstable deserve to know the truth. Thank you, Lynne. Rob, HN   HN submitted the above questions and has yet to receive any type of reply from the Town of Barnstable whatsoever. HN went onto Facebook and was able to find and make contact with a 47-year-old Brazilian-American woman who claims to have been in an inappropriate sexual relationship with Chief Sonnabend of the Barnstable Police Department, one which allegedly lasted for around three years, at irregular intervals. The woman also told HN she had been an applicant for a Town of Barnstable police officer position on three separate occasions since 2015. The last two application processes allegedly took place after she became sexually involved with Chief Sonnabend. She says she first met Sonnabend when he was the lieutenant in charge of the Barnstable Police Department hiring process. The following HN Video highlights part one of a conversation with the 47-year-old woman who met the current police chief during her Barnstable Police Officer application process… and in this first video part, she begins telling a story which perhaps better explains why Chief Sonnabend was recently replaced with Deputy Chief Jean Challies during his self-initiated “medical leave.” Also, since the Town of Barnstable has not yet been able to any shed light on this situation, the identity and images of this woman have been protected, and will remain protected for the time being… … and please remember, these are allegations, and we have not yet heard an explanation from either the Town of Barnstable or Chief Sonnabend.
