HN NOTES:  It’s a recent, ongoing issue that’s expected to get much worse –  an ongoing state of emergency!  –  where an estimated 1000 displaced and migrant families are pouring into the Massachusetts shelter system each month.  The current cost of housing and feeding displaced and migrant families in Massachusetts is said to be at least $45,000,000 per month.  Migrants are being relocated to communities across the entire country as massive numbers of people are flooding across the Southern border every day.  According to an article in the NY Post, New York City Mayor Eric Adams recently lamented about the worsening migrant crisis, saying, “I’m gonna tell you something, New Yorkers, never in my life have I had a problem that I didn’t see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this…  This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City.”  There is no solution in sight.  There is no end in sight.  And this crisis is going to impact everyone, especially the poor to middle class, including those living in tents to those just barely surviving paycheck-to-paycheck… across the entire nation!  The rising prices of food and other necessities will only exasperate issues caused by what Governor Maura Healey has declared as a “state of emergency.” The aforementioned are just a couple of reasons why HN considers the migrant crisis to be the biggest story it has ever covered.  It’s an ongoing story.  A complicated one that requires coverage from all angles.  I shall do my utmost. The following video contains footage and stills of Haitian migrants arriving at the Harborside Suites in South Yarmouth on Sunday evening.  The video also contains a brief on-air discussion about the Cape’s migrant situation with radio talk show host Howie Carr during his Monday evening broadcast.  Howie has been covering the migrant crisis since its onset.  And I consider it the most important story HN has ever had to cover!  I urge everyone to pay attention and to thoroughly educate themselves about this very complicated, developing “state of emergency!” [HN VIDEO –  PRESS PLAY] P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is a brought to you by Stevie Wonder…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT!  HEADPHONES ABSOLUTELY OBLIGATORY!]
