***  WATCH ***  FIREFIGHTERS QUICKLY KNOCK DOWN FLAMES AFTER VEHICLE SLAMS INTO GAS PUMP

YARMOUTH PORT –  A woman was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, after her vehicle left the roadway at the intersection of Route 6A and Union Street, around 9:30 last evening.  The vehicle slammed into a gasoline pump, knocking it off its foundation, and sending it flying across the parking lot, where it caught fire, according to radio transmissions.  Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames.  Firefighters also had to stabilize a fuel spill of at least 10 gallons of gasoline.  Worried about the possibility of an explosion, police kept onlookers and traffic a safe distance away.  The vehicle’s interior reportedly smelled like vomit and the female driver allegedly told first responders she had consumed a quantity booze prior to the crash.
