SANDWICH –  [HN PHOTO NOTES]  –  Shortly after 11:00 p.m. last evening, police and firefighters responded to Route 6 westbound, just yards prior to the Exit 61 off-ramp (the old Exit 3), for reports of a crash.  Initial reports were the crash may have involved other vehicles which may have been still in the travel lanes.  It turns out – thankfully – there was only one vehicle which had left the roadway.  It apparently struck a median guardrail before ricocheting back across westbound lanes and into the opposite guardrail.  The driver was banged up, but conscious and speaking with EMTs.  He was evaluated by rescue and then picked up by a family member, according to radio transmissions.  Sandwich police and firefighters assisted on scene, while the Massachusetts State Police investigated the cause of the crash.  P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is a brought to you by Heart…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT!]
