February 6th, 2023 (FALMOUTH, MASS) — AutoCamp Cape Cod is pleased to announce that Mr. Jan Blum has been appointed as the hotel’s new General Manager as of February 6th, 2023.
As a seasoned veteran, with 30 years of hospitality experience and a local to Falmouth, Mr. Blum truly understands the needs of the community and the Cape Cod guests.
“With his impressive career in the hospitality industry and extensive knowledge and experience of luxury brands, we are confident that Mr. Blum will continue to provide guests with memorable experiences and uphold the traditions of which AutoCamp Cape Cod is so proud of, while striving to further enhance service quality and rand value into the future. Mr. Blum has proven to be a great team leader and community liaison and we feel lucky to have him joining our team,” said Chris Sewell, Vice President of Operations at AutoCamp. The inaugural AutoCamp team was led by former GM, Mimi Dufault, who now manages the company's People & Culture on the East Coast. Interim GM, Terry Bechtold, stepped in to lead the property while awaiting a move to Utah to open the company's new brand, Field Station, in Moab (opening April 2023) and the appointment of Mr. Blum.
“After decades with Marriott and a few other stops along the way, I am thrilled to join the AutoCamp team. I began my hospitality career as a front desk agent in Boston and fell in love with the hotel business but feel excited to be headed back home to the Cape. Falmouth is truly my happy place. I have been visiting for many years and even owned a small 30 room motel here for a few years. I am actually a legacy hire, as my youngest daughter Hannah was a front desk agent for a summer. Needless to say, the opportunity to become GM for a brand and town I love is a dream come true. I look forward to getting started,” said Mr. Blum.
