HN File image: Just one past example of violence on the village green… man helps assault victim by applying pressure to stop her bleeding.   HYANNIS – A member of the Barnstable Police Department encountered a man suffering a stab wound on the Hyannis Village Green yesterday afternoon – Friday, August 5, 2022. At around 1:41 p.m., the Hyannis Fire Department dispatched an ambulance for what was described as a “priority one” stab wound. A HFD engine was also dispatched to assist. Police sources say the patient was uncooperative and refused to tell them who had stabbed him. The patient had to be sedated to receive treatment but survived and was later released from the hospital. The patient is known to frequent the downtown area of Hyannis. This is not the first time he has been stabbed and officials are concerned about his safety moving forward. The man was later taken into protective custody and was being held at the Barnstable Police Department at the time of this report (8/6/22 @ 3:35 a.m.). Life threatening violence is not an unusual occurrence involving those who frequently hangout in the area of the Village Green… In May of 2019, Brenden S. Flynn, age 23, was stabbed to death on the Hyannis Village Green.
