HYANNIS — A boat on a trailer was destroyed in a fire on Suomi Road Friday afternoon, according to Hyannis fire Capt. Nathan Coughlin.The owner of the boat was doing routine maintenance at around 3:30 p.m. when he heard a small explosion and the boat caught fire, Coughlin said. The 24-foot center console motorboat was sitting on a trailer in a driveway next to a house, he said.The boat was destroyed in the fire, and the damage was contained to the boat, Coughlin said.
