BARNSTABLE — A man was flown to a Boston hospital Tuesday afternoon after he severed part of his thumb with a band saw, according to a Barnstable Fire Department official.An emergency crew was called at around 2 p.m. to a residence on Maushop Avenue after the man in his mid-60s accidentally cut his thumb while sawing small pieces of wood, Capt. Kevin Brailey said.No further information was available.
