ORLEANS — A construction crew struck a natural gas line on Cove Road at 12:17 p.m. Saturday, according to Orleans fire Capt. Peter Vogt.The gas main was located in the area of the former Phoenix Fruit, which shut down at the end of February.The construction crew was preparing to demolish the complex and the gas line was struck accidentally by a contractor removing brush, Vogt said.National Grid secured the leak and the area has been cleared, he said.
