Shellfish areas from the east end of the Cape Cod Canal to the Rhode Island state line, including waters to the south of the Cape and the Islands, are set to reopen Friday morning after they were closed in last week’s nor’easter, according to the state Division of Marine Fisheries.The closures started March 1, and some shellfish areas will remain closed until the division determines that the areas are safe.
