BARNSTABLE — A 47-year-old Yarmouth man was put on probation after pleading guilty to assault and battery on a woman who said he slammed her head against the pavement during an altercation and then slapped her when she was being treated at Cape Cod Hospital.Timothy R. Barrows was also charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon — pavement — but that charge was dismissed during a trial Wednesday at Barnstable District Court. [...]
