BOSTON - Six Cape Cod police departments will receive money to help prevent pedestrian and bicyclists deaths and injuries as part of a nearly $250,000 grant award, state officials have announced Thursday. The grants are to be used for traffic enforcement, equipment to heighten the visibility of crosswalks and community education.Among 79 police departments statewide, the departments receiving grants on Cape Cod are Barnstable, Bourne, Dennis, Falmouth, Orleans and Yarmouth.
