BARNSTABLE — A Cotuit woman pleaded not guilty to three charges Monday after allegedly hitting a child with her hand and a wooden spoon, according to Barnstable District Court documents. Rakha Mahabir, 28, pleaded not guilty to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a child with injury, and assault and battery, according to documents. Barnstable police spoke to the child Wednesday at Children’s Cove, a child abuse intervention [...]
