WE GOT HIM! Trump’s Easter Morning Truth Social Bombshell: U.S. Military Rescues Colonel from Deep Inside Iran — Two Pilots Saved in Historic Back-to-Back Operations

ABOVE: A U.S. Navy MH-60 Seahawk lifts off the flight deck of an aircraft carrier for a search-and-rescue mission — the exact type of daring operation President Trump described in today’s Easter morning announcement, when dozens of U.S. aircraft rescued a colonel and a pilot from deep inside Iran. Credit: U.S. Navy file photo/ HN edits…
In a stirring Easter Sunday message on Truth Social, President Donald J. Trump revealed one of the most audacious search-and-rescue missions in American military history: the successful extraction of a highly respected U.S. Colonel who had been hunted behind enemy lines in the treacherous mountains of Iran. Trump hailed the operation — and a second pilot rescue the day before — as proof of overwhelming U.S. air dominance, declaring that America will never leave a warfighter behind.
President Trump shared the dramatic news directly with the American people early Easter morning, posting the full details on Truth Social:
WE GOT HIM! My fellow Americans, over the past several hours, the United States Military pulled off one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in U.S. History, for one of our incredible Crew Member Officers, who also happens to be a highly respected Colonel, and who I am thrilled to let you know is now SAFE and SOUND! This brave Warrior was behind enemy lines in the treacherous mountains of Iran, being hunted down by our enemies, who were getting closer and closer by the hour, but was never truly alone because his Commander in Chief, Secretary of War, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and fellow Warfighters were monitoring his location 24 hours a day, and diligently planning for his rescue. At my direction, the U.S. Military sent dozens of aircraft, armed with the most lethal weapons in the World, to retrieve him. He sustained injuries, but he will be just fine. This miraculous Search and Rescue Operation comes in addition to a successful rescue of another brave Pilot, yesterday, which we did not confirm, because we did not want to jeopardize our second rescue operation. This is the first time in military memory that two U.S. Pilots have been rescued, separately, deep in Enemy Territory. WE WILL NEVER LEAVE AN AMERICAN WARFIGHTER BEHIND! The fact that we were able to pull off both of these operations, without a SINGLE American killed, or even wounded, just proves once again, that we have achieved overwhelming Air Dominance and Superiority over the Iranian skies. This is a moment that ALL Americans, Republican, Democrat, and everyone else, should be proud of and united around. We truly have the best, most professional, and lethal Military in the History of the World. GOD BLESS AMERICA, GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS, AND HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!
The President’s post underscores the high-stakes nature of the mission: the Colonel was actively being pursued in hostile terrain when U.S. forces launched dozens of armed aircraft at Trump’s direction to bring him home. A second American pilot had been rescued the previous day, but officials withheld confirmation to protect the ongoing second operation.
Both rescues were completed without a single American casualty or injury — a feat Trump attributed to unmatched U.S. air superiority over Iran. The announcement frames the twin operations as a powerful demonstration of American resolve and military excellence, calling on the nation to unite in pride regardless of political affiliation.
The message ends with a direct pledge — “WE WILL NEVER LEAVE AN AMERICAN WARFIGHTER BEHIND!” — and a heartfelt Easter greeting to all Americans and U.S. troops.

Employee Arrested After Allegedly Pulling Gun on Customer at Hyannis Advanced Auto Parts Store [HN Video]

HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [LATEST DETAILS] – According to report file in Barnstable District Court by Patrolman Nicholas Stoner of the Barnstable Police Department, on April 1, 2026, at around 4:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to Advanced Auto Parts at 306 Falmouth Road (Route 28) for a customer reporting that an employee had just pulled a firearm and pointed it at him. The firearm was described to dispatchers as a black handgun with a flashlight mounted on the front of it.
Patrolman Stoner’s report continues as follows:
“Upon arrival, Sgt. Blondin was on scene and was making contact with the suspect, Jason BASSETT. Sgt. Blondin was instructing BASSETT to keep his hands where we could see them. We then asked where the firearm was located, to which he responded that it was on his right hip in a holster. BASSETT maintained being cooperative and we retrieved the firearm without incident, a black Glock 43X with a flashlight. Ptl. Cleary was able to secure, clear and later transport the firearm. While officers Roy and Sgt. Blondin stood by with BASSETT, I went outside to speak with the victim Arkey BROWN.
BROWN stated he went into the store to purchase a few items for his vehicle and was waiting approximately 20 minutes to check out of the store and pay for the items. During this time he did not see staff and decided to walk in the back to attempt to locate any member of the staff to make his purchase. BROWN located BASSETT in the rear of the store assisting another customer. BASSETT explained to BROWN that he would be helped shortly and to remain waiting in the front of the store. BROWN stated after an additional amount of time went by, BROWN went back to where BASSETT was in the store and explained to him that he still has not been helped. The two began to argue and BROWN was told to leave the store. BROWN then began walking toward the front of the store. When BROWN got outside the front of the store he made a comment about BASSETT’s weight which BROWN admitted to doing so multiple time throughout the conversation. BROWN observed BASSETT draw his firearm, where it was holstered on his right hip and point it at him. I asked BROWN if anything had become physical at any point between the males to which he stated that it did not. BROWN then called 911.
I then went back into the store to speak with BASSETT. BASSETT had a very similar recall of events as BROWN and certainly acknowledged drawing and pointing his firearm at BROWN during this interaction. BASSETT explained that BROWN followed him back into the store going to and from the front door as they were exchanging words in their argument. BASSETT explained that he was “swung” at by BROWN (Note: BASSETT stated that one of these times the front door to the business was only slightly ajar so the swing missed connecting with BASSETT) and that he was in fear of BROWN. BASSETT stated that he was attacked by BROWN however did not state any of the times that BROWN took a “swing” that it got physical.
I spoke with a witness […], who stated that he was inside the store waiting as well but did not see the firearm and only saw the argument between the [two] he described as BROWN and BASSETT.
Lieutenant Labor stated that he spoke with the store manager […], who stated that the store did not have any security cameras inside or outside the store.”
Jason Bassett, 50, of Harwich was then reportedly placed under arrest for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (a firearm). Bassett was handcuffed and transported back to Barnstable Police Headquarters for booking.
Officers then seized Bassett’s License to Carry Firearms, his handgun, and ammunition. Harwich Police, the agency that issued Bassett’s LTC, was contacted. A letter of firearm license suspension from Harwich Police was emailed to Barnstable Police and eventually given to Bassett.
Patrolman Stoner’s report concluded with the following:
“Upon bail, BASSETT is to report to Harwich Police Department for firearms seizure. Upon bail, an additional firearm is to be seized by the Barnstable Police Department, secured in a lockbox in the rear of BASSETT’s vehicle.
BASSETT was arrested and booked on the following charge: M.G.L. c.265 s.15B Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.”
Advance Auto Parts sent the following statement to Hyannis News this morning in an email:
“We are aware of this incident and treat it seriously. The safety of our customers and team members is our highest priority, and we are grateful there were no injuries. The team member was in clear violation of our policies and is no longer with the company. We are cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate.”
~ a senior Advanced Auto Parts spokesperson stated…
* HN Reminder: The details contained in the above report are based on radio transmissions, information from police sources, and official charging documents filed in Barnstable District Court. The defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The following Hyannis News video shows officers investigating the scene and arresting Bassett just moments after the initial 911 call.

Taunton Man Convicted of First-Degree Murder in Brutal 2023 Stabbing of Unarmed Falmouth Teen

BARNSTABLE, MASSACHUSETTS — A Barnstable County jury has convicted Adrian Black of Taunton of first-degree murder, for the 2023 stabbing death of 19-year-old Milteer Hendricks of Falmouth, Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois announced today.
The jury returned the verdict after deliberating for approximately two hours at the end of a trial that began March 19 and concluded April 2. Black, who was 22 at the time of the killing, now faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Sentencing is scheduled for tomorrow – Friday, April 3, 2026 – in Barnstable Superior Court.
The fatal attack occurred on the evening of June 10, 2023, at an apartment complex in Falmouth. Falmouth police and Mashpee fire-rescue crews responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing and found Hendricks suffering from a chest wound. He was rushed to Falmouth Hospital and then med-flighted to a Boston-area hospital, where he died the following day.
Investigators pieced together the case through witness accounts, surveillance footage from the complex, and cell-phone videos captured at the scene. The evidence showed that Black and four other individuals drove to the apartment complex in a BMW with the specific intent of attacking Hendricks. The victim was unarmed and vastly outnumbered. Black stabbed him in the chest, after which the group fled in the same vehicle.
Black was arrested the next day, June 12, 2023, in Taunton on the murder charge.
The case was investigated by the Falmouth Police Department and the State Police Detectives assigned to the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office. The case was prosecuted by Chief of Narcotics and Firearms Unit Assistant District Attorney Thomas Flanagan, Chief of the Appeals Unit – Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Sweeney, and Assistant District Attorney Michael Preble along with Victim Witness Assistant Deborah McCoy.
[Note: No photos of Adrian Black were available at the time of this report… developing…]

Coming Soon: The Best Week to List Your House!

While the spring season consistently offers up some of the best conditions for home sellers, Realtor.com says there’s one window where the stars really seem to align year after year. And it’s coming up fast.

Based on their analysis of historical trends, the ideal week to put your house on the market this year is: April 12–18.

And here’s why this window stands out as being particularly seller-friendly:

Buyers Are More Active. According to the research coming out of Realtor.com, homes listed during this week typically get about 16.7% more views than in a normal week. And in a market where buyers have options, getting that extra attention can set the tone for your entire sale.

Sales Happen Faster. Realtor.com also explains the added demand from buyers sets you up for a faster process. While homes have been taking longer to sell lately, homes up for sale this week were on the market for 17% less time than usual. And that’s a difference you’ll be able to feel.

A Better Price for Your House. Since the number of homes for sale has grown, it’s normal for buyers to ask for credits, repairs, and price adjustments today. But, during this early Spring window, about 18.9% fewer homes do a price cut. That gives you a better chance of getting your full asking price.

More Profit in Your Pocket. According to the study, well-prepped homes listed this week can command a price that’s about $5,300 more than the average week (and $26,000 more than homes at the start of the year).

And who doesn’t want more eyes on their house, getting an offer in hand sooner (rather than later), and their best shot at selling for top dollar?

What You Need To Do To Get Ready

If you’re already thinking about selling and you want to take advantage of this sweet spot, your next step is shockingly simple. Just give us a call now. You can always find us at 508-388-1994 (Mari and Hank) and 781-423-8662 (Colleen).

Our expertise is going to be key over the next few weeks. We’ll help you figure out what you need to do now to get your house ready. Including:

What you’ll want to spruce up before listing

How to prioritize any repairs (and contractors that can help)

Quick wins that’ll have a big impact

What buyers care most about today

For some sellers, that’s a few easy fixes they can knock out in the next couple of weeks. A fresh coat of paint. Some new mulch. Or some light Spring cleaning.

For others, it’s worth taking another month or so to make some minor updates before listing. And that’s okay. Because while this mid-April window may give sellers an advantage, it’s not your only opportunity to sell.

And don’t forget…Colleen was on the staff the This Old House TV program. So, she knows a thing or two about this.

Bottom Line

Getting your house on the market in mid-April may give you an extra edge, but the bigger opportunity is the Spring season as a whole. The real question is:

Do you know what you need to do before you can list?

Because it’s officially go-time for any seller planning a Spring move.

If you want your house to hit the market during the “best” week (or even this season), let’s talk about what it’ll take to get it ready.

In this raw audio, hear Falmouth Police radio transmissions as officers try to stop the truck, pursue it at moderate speeds through town toward the highway, and learn the driver is the same woman who made the original 911 call. Family members say she was suffering a mental health episode. The pursuit was called off after the pickup hit 100 MPH on Route 28 north. Massachusetts State Police attempted to deploy a tire deflation device near the Otis Rotary before officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop in Bourne.
The woman was taken into custody without further incident and transported to Falmouth Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Her vehicle was towed from the highway. It’s still unclear whether Falmouth Police will seek criminal charges related to the pursuit.
The following police radio audio captures every tense moment of the chase.

Meat Cleaver Manhunt Alarms Downtown Hyannis: School Locked Down, Suspect Detained — Then Released After “Completely Different” Story

Hyannis, Massachusetts – March 28, 2026
A routine Friday lunchtime in downtown Hyannis turned into a full-scale police operation when reports of vandalism and a “meat cleaver” assault sent Barnstable officers swarming the area and placed the Barnstable Community Innovation School on lockdown.
Just after noon on March 27, patrol officers responded to a disturbance on Skating Rink Road. The reporting party — a man well-known to local police — claimed he had been assaulted with a large knife or meat cleaver. He said the suspect had also gone after his dog with the weapon before fleeing into the woods behind the school on Bearses Way.
The description was specific: a tall, skinny, light-skinned Black male, about 6’7″, wearing a blue jacket and bright red sweatpants, still carrying the dangerous weapon.
Officers wasted no time. A Yarmouth Police K-9 unit swept back yards and pushed into the wooded area near the ball fields. Barnstable units saturated nearby streets. A sheriff’s crime scene unit photographed a smashed van windshield and cleaver-sized gashes in a trailer at the scene. At least one police drone hummed overhead while the elementary school remained locked down for safety.
By early afternoon, officers detained a man matching the exact description near the corner of Winter Street and Stevens Street. He was placed against a fence as the alleged victim was driven past in a squad car for a positive identification. Hyannis News photos from the scene show the handcuffed man, a policewoman standing by, and a friend lighting the detainee’s cigarette.
The man was transported to Barnstable Police Headquarters for a voluntary interview.
What happened next flipped the script.
According to police sources, the detained man gave a completely different, contradictory, and seemingly credible version of events. He had an injured hand. No charges were filed. He was released.
Despite an extensive search with the K-9 unit, the alleged meat cleaver was never located.
The Barnstable Community Innovation School property was cleared and the lockdown lifted once the immediate threat was ruled out. The entire incident remains under active investigation. [DEVELOPING]
